Originally from São Paulo, Cleber and Denise lived for many years in the Unites States. The last five years there, they decided to serve God more fully, and began making changes in their lives. As God would reveal His will to them, they would not hesitate to obey. Finally the moment arrived in which they felt God’s call to an even deeper dedication. After much fasting and prayer, they decided to serve as volunteer missionaries, thus fully dedicating their lives to God. Along with their two children, Kathleen age 12 and Kevin age 10, they believe Christ is coming back and they desire to be an instrument in God’s hands, to do as He wills.
At an ASI meeting where they learned of many mission projects, they found Gospel Ministries International (GMI). Thus they commenced their missionary life in Bolivia, working at GMI’s television network, producing children’s programs in Portuguese. They also had the privilege of participating in a project that cared for street-kids, where they helped to reform the dinning room. And in addition, they did missionary work at a women’s prison, where the mothers live along with their children that have nowhere to stay.
While still in Bolivia, they became acquainted with the project in the Amazon, and once again knelt in prayer asking for divine guidance. Then God lead them to form a part of our team.
Cleber has extensive experience with agriculture and construction, and serves as our Base Operator. His many responsibilities include, caring for the land, coordinating local evangelism and construction, receiving mission groups, and translating when needed.
Denise is trained as a secretary and is gifted in working with children. She takes care of all secretarial work for the project. She also coordinates and runs the children programs on our mission trips.
